Looks like the rumors were true. America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan is headed to CNN and stepping into Larry King's suspenders. NBC Universal Television Entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin confirmed that Piers will be going to CNN at the TCA summer press tour Thursday, TheWrap.com reports.

Piers will be replacing Larry King at CNN now that his America's Got Talent contract with NBC is no longer an obstacle.

On Wednesday, Piers told Jay Leno that he had a new deal with NBC, but remained hush-hush on whether or not that meant he was moving to CNN.

But don't worry — Piers is not leaving America's Got Talent behind, rather NBC and CNN are working together to fine tune his contract.

There has been no comment from CNN or Piers at this time.

OK! NEWS: AMERICA'S GOT TALENT STARS: PIERS MORGAN WOULD BE "AMAZING" IN LARRY KING'S JOB

“If that happens, I just want to see if he can hook me up with an interview!” America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon told Access Hollywood this week.

“Piers Morgan would be amazing at that job. For the people over here in the States that may not be familiar with his background, he’s been in journalism for decades. Extremely knowledgeable, witty — I think the show would go where Larry’s taken it and beyond.”
