UPDATE: The popular video is back up on YouTube now, now on a Vevo account and labeled as a “Director’s Cut.” Whew! It only has 302 views so far, so get to clicking to bring it up into the millions again!
In an ironic move, the YouTube video that made Rebecca Black famous has been yanked by the singer herself! Rebecca pulled “Friday” off the site after a dispute over her image.
Her rep told TMZ, “We can confirm that we submitted a Take Down Notice to YouTube as a result of the dispute we have with Ark Music regarding the “Friday” video.”
Basically, Rebecca’s team previously threatened legal action against Ark. As for the reason, well it comes down to exploiting her image and her song. Turns out, Ark doesn’t own the rights to either one!
Earlier in the week, Ark set up “Friday” with a $2.99 fee for a YouTube video rental, and all of the sudden, voila! Rebecca’s team has removed the video completely.
