Reese Witherspoon hopped on her soap box, delivering a message to all young Hollywood actresses during her acceptance speech for the MTV Generation Award at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Sunday night. The Oscar-winner warned girls to “hide your face,” when taking cell phone shots, and the comment led to speculation that Reese was targeting Blake Lively, who is currently dealing with her own nude photo scandal.
“I just want to say to all the girls out there, I know it’s cool to be bad. I get it,” Reese said when she took the stage after a tribute from Patrick Dempsey, Robert Pattinson and Chelsea Handler. “All right, it’s cool to be bad, but it’s also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show.
She continued: “When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed. And like if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people. Hide your face.”
So is there ill will between Reese and Blake?
“Reese was absolutely not referencing Blake Lively,” her rep told E! News.
Blake has been the target of a nude photo scandal, and she, along with her camp, claim the photos that were leaked on the internet last week were “100 perecent fake,” maintaining that she is a victim to the work of a hacker.
Do you believe Reese wasn’t referring to Blake? Was she taling a jab at the Kardashians and Teen Mom stars?
