The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong‘s estranged husband, Russell Armstrong, took his own life, the coroner’s office can now confirm.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the 47-year-old reality star’s death was cause by his own hand.
Chief Coroner Ed Winter told E! News that the official cause of death “was suicide by hanging.”
The identity of the person who found Russell’s body has not been revealed.
Toxicology tests were conducted and will take six to eight weeks for results.
Russell was found dead Monday, in a bedroom at a home on L.A.’s Mulholland Drive, which is believed to belong to one of his close friends.
Authorities did not find a suicide note.
“Taylor Armstrong is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded,” Taylor’s rep tells OK! on behalf of the reality star. “She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter.”
Her rep adds, “Her thoughts and prayers are also with Russell’s 11- and 13-year-old sons from previous relationships.”
