Well, it had to happen sometime! Russell Brand has officially stopped following soon-to-be ex-wife Katy Perry on Twitter.
We know it seems kind of insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but since Russell only follows 77 people total, and Twitter keeps you apprised of the actions of those you follow, it can be seen as a fairly big sign the end is almost (officially) near, and Russell's ready to completely let go (contrary to rumors that surfaced earlier this week that the actor wanted to reconcile).
Katy, who was seen canoodling with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd at Coachella last month, unfollowed Russell pretty much as soon as he filed for divorce back in December. She's probably been wondering what's taken him so long.
Do you think Russell wanted to know what Katy was up to, or do you think he just sees timely Twitter removal as immature and insignificant? What is the protocol in situations like this? Social media has given breakups a whole new set of rules to contend with!
