Women around the world fell for Southern gentleman and football hunk Sean Lowe on this season of The Bachelorette. But last night, women around the world cried as Emily Maynard sent him home before he could get the chance to propose to her on the season finale.

In one of the most — if not the most — heartbreaking eliminations yet, Emily gave Jef Holm and Arie Luyendyk Jr. roses and said goodbye to a devastated and confused Sean.

OK! NEWS: BACHELORETTE RECAP: EMILY MAYNARD BREAKS DOWN AFTER SENDING SEAN LOWE HOME

"I'm not sure what to say," a teary-eyed Sean told Emily after she walked him out of the rose ceremony. "I feel kind of stupid. Only because I knew with certainty that I was ready to spend forever with you and I just didn't see this coming... obviously. I think you should know it's going to hurt me," he added as Emily broke down in tears, once again.

"I want you to know, I wanted it to be you, so bad. So, so bad," Emily told Sean with tears streaming down her face. "I'm really going to miss you and I have loved every minute I've had with you."

"I'm going to miss you more than you know," Sean added. "I care about you, ultimately, and if this is the best for you, than you have to do what's best for you."

Now that the shock of his elimination is over and he's spent some time away from the cameras, slowly getting over the heartbreak, Sean admits he wouldn't "change a thing."
