We never thought we’d see sharks flying through the sky, but thanks to Sharknado, the sea creature has a new feeding ground. And you thought pigs couldn’t fly…
This summer, Syfy‘s new nautical thriller went viral, so much so that the network is bringing you a sequel. Instead of keeping it a monstrous secret, Syfy let fans in on the sharp-toothed action and opened their Twitter page up for naming suggestions. All you had to do was use the hashtag, #Sharknado. Simple, eh?
The oceanic creature-filled flick that’s set in the Big Apple now officially has a name—Sharknado 2: The Second One.
Yeah, we’re not kidding. The network’s executive VP of programming Thomas Vitale stated, “This response is another reminder of how Sharknado has become a pop culture phenomenon. We want to thank all our viewers for their wonderful contributions to keeping up the shark-mentum.”
Perhaps a “to the point” title was the goal.
