Early auditions for the 10th season of American Idol are already underway, and time is of the essence! So who is the latest name linked to the judge's chair?

Reportedly, one coveted candidate has caused a small debate between Idol executive producer Simon Fuller and Cowell.
Cowell's upcoming Fox singing competition The X Factor is also looking for judges.
While no decision has been made yet on who will replace Simon, FOX’s new entertainment chairman, Peter Rice, has said he expects the new Idol judge to join the audition process by early September, according to THR.

Other stars linked to filling Simon's judging seat include crooner Harry Connick Jr., rocker Bret Michaels and even Donald Trump, who has reportedly lobbied to replace Simon despite his association with NBC as producer and judge of The Apprentice.
