The Packers, Steelers and all the celebs in Dallas waiting to watch them play, woke up to some serious weather conditions yesterday morning. The Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex was under a thin sheet of ice and snow, marking the worst winter storm the area has seen in 20 years. But the nasty weather hasn’t stopped Super Bowl XLV visitors from taking to the streets and celebrating!
The storm raged earlier this week and on Tuesday while supermodel Brooklyn Decker Tweeted a picture she took of a car sliding on ice as she traveled the Metroplex streets: “The NFL cannot be happy right now… Cars sliding all over the roads…. Makes for an exciting morning.”
And as this week ended, many thought the snow was behind them, but by midnight Friday morning, snow began to fall again across the area.
This morning, more than two inches of powder had accumulated on Dallas streets, slowing traffic.
Darren Rovell, CNBC’s Sports Business Reporter, dubbed the weather pattern “Dallas Doom” on his Twitter.
“Snow still coming down in Dallas, some sticking to the stadium roof” he Tweeted with a pic of the stadium.
Luckily, both teams are used to the snowy, cold extreme weather conditions, as they hail from Green Bay and Pittsburgh, but we know spectators were hoping for some warmer temps in Texas.
The forecast for the big game? Looks like snow will stop early afternoon Today and temps will rise to the 50s for the big game! (via Weather.com)
