Suri Cruise may live a lavish lifestyle and have a closest most grown women would envy, but the world-famous daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes did what every other NYC 6-year-old did this morning — start school.
People reports her mother was in the SUV with the nervous first-grader, and Suri was seen biting her nails as they pulled up to an expensive Manhattan private school.
And, of course, the little fashionista started her first day in style: She carried a pink cheetah-print backpack and accessorized with a matching pink bow in her hair.
Back in August, Katie enrolled her daughter at Avenues, a $40,000-a-year private school that caters to the lifestyle of children like Suri.
The school has 20 campuses on five continents, which allows students to travel whenever they please. They can continue their lesson plans at various locations without interrupting their studies.
Avenue's website explains why its educational system is worth the hefty price tag.
"If 'local' schools are the first step in the evolution of schooling and 'national' schools are the second step, the decades ahead are likely to bring the third step: global schools.Thirty years from now there will likely be a number of such organizations. Avenues plans to be the best of this new breed of educational institution — hence its subtitle: The World School."
In addition, Suri will be able to enjoy posh amenities such as a fitness center, rooftop playground, volleyball and basketball courts.
“Katie has eagerly been telling Suri all about the lunchrooms, basketball courts and different activities Avenues offers," an insider told Life & Style. "Suri’s really excited about it.”
Good luck at school, Suri!
