Actress Taryn Manning was charged with misdemeanor assault and choking today in NYC after a brutal altercation with her assistant Thursday morning.
In a story that raises more questions than it does answers, Taryn's attorney told the court she was in Manhattan promoting her new music single when she and her assistant, Holliann Hartman, had an argument that turned bloody.
According to police reports, Taryn punched and scratched her in the face, choked her and slammed her head against the floor and wall.
Holliann had bruises all over her head and body, but the actress's lawyer swears it was just "disagreements that friends who spend every waking moment together have on occasion." Holliann shares a home with Taryn and her mother in L.A.
"If you know about Taryn, and her track record and her background, she's not a petulant little kid," he said. "She's a 33-year-old, serious, well-accomplished actress, artist who is here promoting her song on Vh1.”
Uh huh. Tell it to the judge! Taryn will return to court on Nov. 13.
