Taylor Swift received the 2012 Ripple of Hope award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.

The Ripple of Hope is bestowed on those who have shown extraordinary dedication to social change. Bill Clinton, Bono and George Clooney are all past winners.

"Taylor Swift's dedication to advocacy at such a young age continues to inspire me, and I'm delighted to honor her as one of our 2012 Ripple of Hope Award recipients," the center's president Kerry Kennedy said in a statement. "As a young person, Taylor has already accomplished so much, and I look forward to watching all that she will do to help build a brighter, more peaceful world for us all."

Kerry is no doubt talking about Taylor's generous donations to arts education, relief work and support for the LGBTI community. Swifty's most recent contribution was $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

However, as E! News noted, one can only wonder if the Kennedy clan found her a more attractive candidate due to her love of the legendary family. Not only is she rumored to be canoodling with Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Patrick, but Tay has publicly gushed about the political family.
