Amber Portwood, of MTV's Teen Mom, appeared at her hearing this morning in an orange striped jumpsuit and shackles in Anderson, Ind., and was sentenced to five years in prison. However, she could avoid going to prison if she gets accepted into and completes a court-ordered drug rehabilitation program.

Amber will be kept in custody until Thursday when she will appear in a Madison County Drug Court to determine if she can enter a drug rehab program. If she is accepted, Amber will enter the program for a minimum of 18 months and a maximum of three years.

If Amber fails to complete the program then she will serve her five-year sentence.

Well then Amber can appear back in court, withdraw her guilty pleas and have a trial on her charges.

While it sounds like the Teen Mom star is getting a good deal, her mother doesn't think so.

"I think they are using her as a prime example to make themselves look good for political reasons," her mother, Tonya Portwood, told E! News. "I don't think she should have received the punishment she was given in the first place."

Do you agree? Do you think Amber will finally get the help she needs?
