While Hollywood begins to digest the news of Robin Williams' untimely passing, studios are quietly trying to the pick up the pieces of their upcoming Williams-starring films. The comedian, 63, had already wrapped 3 films and had more in pre-production.

  • Merry Friggin' Christmas: A road-trip film with Wendi McLendon-Covey, Lauren Graham, Oliver Platt and Joel McHale. Williams plays the dad, McHale plays his son. It's due out Nov. 7.
  • Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb: Williams will be back playing Teddy Roosevelt alongside Ben Stiller. It arrives in theaters Dec. 19.
  • Boulevard: A drama which already appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival, tells the tale of a married man's involvement with a street hustler. Williams stars with Bob Odenkirk and Kathy Baker. Its release date is uncertain.
  • Absolutely Anything: An animated film with Williams lending his voice to a dog. The film, which tells the story of a teacher who gets supernatural powers from aliens, also stars Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale, and was directed by Monty Python alum, Terry Jones. It's scheduled to be released next year.
  • Mrs. Doubtfire 2: The world rejoiced when news of this sequel first came out. However, it looks likely to be shelved, Variety reports.
