It turns out Tiger Woods may have been tipsy at the time of his accident. The Florida Highway Patrol wanted a blood test from the pro golfer after the crash, because a witness told them Tiger was drinking earlier in the day, according to new documents obtained by TMZ. The witness, who TMZ has learned is his wife Elin Nordegren, stated to the FHP that “the driver had consumed alcohol earlier in the day and the same witness removed the driver from the vehicle after the collision.”
The document continues, “The same witness stated that the driver was prescribed medication (Ambien and Vicatin[sic]).”

It was first reported that Elin, who pulled Tiger from the wreck, was also the one who told cops he had taken medicine and even brought the pill bottles to the EMTs.

“Impairment of the driver is also suspected due to the careless driving that resulted in the traffic crash,” concludes the document.

This information is not valid anymore since the FHP’s request for the blood sample was denied, on grounds of insufficient evidence.

The FHP issued Tiger a $164 ticket for careless driving, a slap on the wrist from the original claim of his driving under the influence.

The FHP said the investigation is complete and it will not seek any search warrants for his medical record.
