As fans have lined up for days in anticipation of the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn panel at the Comic-Con International convention in San Diego, tragedy has sadly struck.
According to the San Diego Union Tribune, a 53-year-old woman was camped out in the front of the San Diego Convention Center and was struck by a car and killed earlier today. According to Sgt. Ron Glass, the woman was in a crosswalk and ran across the street against a red light when the driver of a Suburu Outback struck here at 9:20 a.m. PT.
She was taken to the hospital, bleeding from her head, but soon passed away.
Fellow fans said her name was Gisella and she had been in line at Comic-Con since Sunday. They have already started a petition for a moment of silence at the convention in her honor.
Fans have also already been Tweeting under the hashtag #RIPTwiFanG to express condolences.
