Uma Thurman attempted to escape without the paparazzi snapping any close-ups of her new baby girl this afternoon in Manhattan. The actress got creative and enlisted the help of a friend who held a billowy sheet in front of the Smash star as she walked down the street.
Looking casual in white jeans, a blue button-up and navy flats, the actress shielded her face and scurried to her car in midtown before losing her balance briefly.

Uma gave birth to her third child on July 16 after a low profile pregnancy. The baby girl's father, businessman Arpad Busson, has been her on and off again love since 2007. The pair were briefly engaged in 2009, broke up and then reconciled last year.
Uma is also mother to two children, Maya and Levin, with ex-husband Ethan Hawke.
