Update! Adam Lambert took to his Twitter account to set the record straight on reports that he would be joining Queen on tour as their lead singer.
“Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context…. I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA'S,” Adam wrote, denying claims that he would definitely be singing with the band.
Regardless of the reports not being confirmed, the former American Idol contestant said, “I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!!”
Originally, it was reported that Adam Lambert announced that he will be touring with Queen this summer as the iconic band's new frontman! The performances will pay tribute to the late and great Freddie Mercury, who is in fact, Adam's idol.
“The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of,” Adam tells the Daily Star.
“There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie,” Adam adds. “That’s impossible. The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honor and one I’m in no way going to shirk.”
“Straight away I thought, ‘These guys are so f*****g rad.’ They’re a class act, so sweet and paternal and on a musical level really open to great new experiences," Adam raves. “Being asked to front Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen.”
Do you think Adam should tour with Queen?
