The Vampire Diaries season 4 premiere airs on Oct. 4 and fans of the supernatural show are itching to see Elena as a newly minted vampire.

Season 3's shocking finale had the brown-haired beauty fighting for her life after a car crash and dying with vampire blood in her system.
As is the way of the Vampire Diaries universe, those who die with vampire blood mingling with their own blood, wake up vampires.
However, instead of transitioning seamlessly she's caught between worlds, not a true vampire and not human either.

While it seems the only logical (if you can call it that) solution is to turn Elena into a vamp, Stefan and Damon have a heated argument over Stefan's plan to turn her back into a mortal.
