Venus Williams has reportedly withdrawn herself from the US Open.
According to The Associated Press, Venus has taken herself out of the tournament before her second-round match. The only reason cited was an unspecified illness.
Venus beat Vesna Folonts on Monday and was set to play Sabine Lisicki on Wednesday.
On Monday Venus Tweeted, “Hi everyone, great to be back at the Open! Wow, feels good just to be competing. See you at the Open!”
Venus and her sister Serena Williams had high hopes of winning the US Open and recently told OK!, “We want to try and win to keep the cup in the U.S.”
We hope she gets well soon!
