16 and Pregnant star Izabella Tovar was so ashamed of her pregnancy that she hid it from friends and family. On MTV's after show, Izabella explained how difficult it was to keep her pregnancy a secret.

Besides her boyfriend Jairo and her parents, Izabella didn't tell anyone else she was pregnant until she started showing, at around eight months.
Why did Izabella think her friends and some of her family would judge her so harshly?
"Just the fact that I was young and I was pregnant," Izabella explained to MTV. "I think it was mostly because at my school there was a girl that had just gotten pregnant a couple months before I did. I saw how badly people were treating her and everyone was really rude to her at school in the halls, and she lost a lot of friends and I didn't want to be like that."

And Izabella even kept her pregnancy a secret from her best friend of 10 years, Cassidy.
How are they doing now?
"We're close. I mean, I still talk to her," Izabella said. "I have a couple classes with her and I feel comfortable enough that we can talk and joke around and stuff. But we're definitely not as close as we used to be."
Does Izabella regret not telling Cassidy?
"Yes, sometimes."
As for Izabella and her boyfriend, Jairo? They're still together and Jairo has "really changed and stepped up."
