Casting is underway for The Dark Knight Rises and Christopher Nolan is looking to find his leading lady. So, who’s in the running?
OK! NEWS: CHRISTOPHER NOLAN SAYS THE DARK KNIGHT WON’T RISE IN 3-D
According to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision, Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel are set to test for the role in the next two weeks.
Gemma Arterton is scheduled to test, but may have scheduling conflicts now that she’s the female lead in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
But Christopher is also reportedly looking into some newcomers to test, Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley.
Kate had small roles in 127 Hours and Iron Man 2 in 2010 and is the sister of Rooney Mara, who is currently filming The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Charlotte is a British actress who has mostly done TV work. She is engaged to Tom Hardy, who starred in Christopher’s Inception and has reportedly been booked for an unknown role in The Dark Knight Rises.
And the good news is there are two big female parts in The Dark Knight Rises — a love interest and villain.
According to sources, one female part is Talia, the daughter of villain Ra’s Al Ghul, who was played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins.
And insiders say the film should begin shooting in May in L.A. and London.
