Another week, another elimination! As we get down to the wire and The X Factor heats up, Marcus Canty was shown the exit. All is not lost though because the ousted singer has his sights set on a sitcom!
Although he didn't win the competition, he told reporters he feels "like $5 million right now." Plus, he said the pressure's off. "I don't have to worry about America shooting me down about something that I did, have to worry about Simon, and I can just relax."
Actually, the pressure was cooking in the beginning because "you want to make it so far." He pointed out, "But as the competition started dwindling down, especially the top four, you start seeing less people and it gets relaxing. To me at that point it felt like I owned the stage, it was my stage, and I could go out and be who I wanted to be on stage. It was an amazing experience."
Giving props to his mom by saying she's "the strongest woman I have ever met in my life," Marcus is keeping the faith and his eyes on the prize. Clearly, not The X Factor prize but he's thinking even bigger! "I want to do everything, and hopefully really soon. I want to do movies and TV and I want my own sitcom."
Maybe even a remake of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? "Ohhhh. That would be cool. Someone needs to give me a sitcom, and someone needs to remake that. I want to make some money in some sitcoms."
