Zac Efron is in the new film New Year's Eve and a big reason for that is co-star Michelle Pfeiffer!
Michelle plays a woman who wants to resolve all of her New Year's resolutions in one day and Zac's character helps her out.
This isn't the first time Michelle and Zac have teamed up. They first did that in Hairspray where Michelle told Today they loved working together but they "didn't have any real scenes together. It was more like snareling and like little semi flirtatious moments."
"I was so excited to do this movie with her," Zac said. "Because it was more of a chance for us to connect and really have some good scenes."
Michelle told Matt Lauer that Zac was "very cool." She also talked about how she left him a voicemail asking him about being in the movie because she wanted to make sure it was something he was really apart of. Zac said, "That was a killer voicemail to get. Probably still have it on my phone."
One part of New Year's Eve that Matt shared was that Michelle and Zac's characters, Ingrid and Paul share a kiss. When Matt asked about it, Zac said "Are you kidding? It's the best part of the movie."
"I think we started out thinking it was going to be more of a shock then it ended up being," Michelle said. "It turns out to be really fun," Zac stated laughing, "It was kind our idea; we wanted to spice up the movie." "In the original scene it was a little soft serve," Zac revealed.
Catch these two and so many more when the film opens Friday.
