Zooey Deschanel Files for Divorce From Death Cab for Cutie Frontman Ben Gibbard

Sad news for New Girl's Zooey Deschanel. The actress has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard.

According to court documents, Zooey filed on Dec. 27 and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. The couple, who have been married for two years, first separated on Oct. 31.

Zooey, who is nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in New Girl, also requested that Ben's right to spousal support be terminated, E! Online reports.
