Age: 24
Hometown: Selma, Oregon
Musical Favorites: Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey
Idol Pursuits: Swimming, softball, martial arts, cage fighting, modeling, acting, riding her horse named Midnight.
Audition Song: "Amazing Grace"
Grace Ace: The spiritual Amazing Grace has got Kristy through two rounds of Idol. She sang it at her audition in Philidelphia, then again in Hollywood to convince judges to put her into the Top 24.
What's the Deal?: Caused a stir when people learned she'd had a recording career before Idol. She is said to have signed a contract in 1999 with RCA Records/Arista Nashville, then a joint contract with BMI and Britney Spear's production company in 2001. She was dropped by both labels and eventually released her debut CD, Devoted, on Ren Hen Records. Kirst Lee was managed by the same songwriter who discovered LeAnn Rimes.
Band: As well as her solo work, Kristy was in a band called Six Shooter.
Horse Trading: Country girl Kristy, who grew up in a log cabin, sold a horse to raise the cash for her Idol bid. She was heart-broken when the man she sold it to refused to sell in back once she had finished on the show.
Highlights: One of Kirsty Lee's pre-Idol career highlights was singing the national anthem before a Dallas Mavericks basketball game in 2004.
