When you’re a New Yorker (or just a fan of New York) there’s only one place to go in the summer: the Hamptons. It’s perfect for clambakes, polo matches, beach trips, and of course housewife spotting—read on to see where to eat, drink, and play!
Where to Have an Epic Saturday Night: SL East. Between the “it” DJs spinning in the back, the banquettes packed with the some of the best looking people in the Hamptons, and the A-list ambiance, there’s no way you’re not going to have a great night at this hotspot. Sure, it might require buying a bottle to get in, but when you’re partying next to Alessandra Ambrosio, Carmelo Anthony, or Kellan Lutz, it’s probably worth it—right?!
Where to do Low-Key Brunch: Estia’s Little Kitchen. This quaint restaurant is the epitome of Sag Harbor cuteness. Celebs like Candice Bergen, Calvin Klein, and Isaac Mizrahi have all eaten at the Mexican Fusion spot, which features fresh, local ingredients and homemade hot sauces! Order Isabelle’s Request (Tuscan Toast topped with Goat Cheese, Spinach, Tomato, Onion & Two Poached Eggs) or George’s Ranch (Toasted Flour Tortilla topped with Eggs, Avocado, Black Beans, Cheese and Salsa) and don’t forget to take a walk outside in their adorable garden.
How to Get Around: Main Street Drivers. Whether you’re vineyard hopping, bar hopping, or just sightseeing around the villages, one thing’s for certain: life’s more fun when you’re not the driver. That’s where Main St. comes in—James Hirtenstein and his guys will worry about the driving, so you don’t have to. Call them to take you home after a night out, or arrange for them to provide transportation for your birthday, bachelorette, or bridal party group for the day or weekend. PS-Since they’re usually carting celebs around, they’ve got the 411 on all the places where it’s likely you’ll run into a few. Visit mainstreetdrivers for rates and booking information.
Where to Get Your Hair/Makeup Done: Valery Joseph Pop-Up Salon in Bridgehampton. Being away from your trusted hairstylist while on vacation can be a panic-inducing situation. Luckily celeb stylist Valery Joseph and his team has you covered. Swing by his pop up for a quick cut, make-up application, wax, or even extensions to ensure you’ll blend in at all the swanky events the Hamps has to offer. PS—they also make house calls, so there is really no excuse for not looking major on a Saturday night. Both Celebrity Chef Katie Lee and Lauren Santo Domingo (Contributing Editor at Vogue/Co-founder of Moda Operandi) have “popped” in recently.
Where to do Boozey Brunch: Day & Night at at Gurney’s Inn. Open for 3 holiday weekends only (July 4th, August 3rd, and Labor Day), this party brunch is one not to miss. Nosh on dishes like Oysters on the half shell, French Toast Bites, Lobster Rolls, Angus Beef Sliders, and don’t forget to snap Instagrams of the skydiving Dom Perignon delivery guy—no, we’re not kidding. Chris & Liam Hemsworth, Leonardo Dicaprio, Kellan Lutz, Lil’ Jon, Mickey Rourke, and Kevin Spacey are all fans.
Where to Go Wine Tasting: Channing Daughters. This vineyard in Bridgehampton contains twenty-five acres of vines, a small winery, tasting room, a sculpture garden, and an impressive collection of “orange” wines. Definitely taste the 2011 Ramato and the 2010 L’Enfant Sauvage.
Where to Go for Relaxing Treatments: Salon Bar. If you’re planning on vacationing like a star in the Hamptons this summer, you’re going to need to look the part. Meet Salon Bar—where you’ll be transformed into an A-lister in no time thanks to organic body wraps (they have chocolate and wine wraps!) and diamond-infused and 24k Gold facials. Um, yes.
Where to Eat Dinner and Stay to Dance: 75 Main. Traditional Italian meets contemporary American cuisine is the theme at this popular restaurant, which turns into a dance party with plenty of star sightings late night. Signature dishes include Calamari Fritti, Veal Milanese, Smoked Salmon with Fettuccini, and the Soft Shell Crab and celebs like Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, Barbara Walters, Ramona Singer, Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb have all visited.
Where to Party Poolside: Montauk Beach House. With a 12,000 sq foot outdoor area featuring 2 pools and over 100 daybeds and cabanas, MBH is the place to be for their Sound Waves @ The House fashion and music series happening every Saturday throughout the summer. Rose Byrne, Chloe Sevigny, and Cynthia Rowley have all attended and Mark Ronson, The Chainsmokers, and Young Empires have all performed.
Where to Shop: Joe Fresh Summer Pop-Up Store. Nobody loves a good pop up like the editors of OK! and we’re super psyched that one of our fave city haunts—Joe Fresh—has set up shop in Southampton! Peruse their brightly colored separates and hang around long enough to snap a paparazzi-style pic of the local celebs. NYC Housewife Sonja Morgan was just in the other week.
