The Oscars are the ultimate awards show. The Grammys always bring amazing performances. The Emmys? Ehhh. It's often the same shows winning year after year, so the awards can be a bit of a snooze. But not in 2014! Here are a few reasons you need to watch.

1. It's the swan song for Breaking Bad.

Since the series is now dunzo, this is the last time Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul could be honored for their amazing work on it. Can we get one more amazing Aaron Paul acceptance speech, please?!

2. There are tons of new shows to shake things up.

Move over, Mad Men. There's now Fargo, Orange Is the New Black, House of Cards, and loads of other exciting new series to root for.

3. Seth Meyers is hosting.

Which means tons of Saturday Night Live cast members will be popping up. What up, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

4. It's going to be an amazing red carpet.

There are so, so, so many categories at the Emmys, so the red carpet will be full of A-listers. Kerry Washington post-baby? We can't wait to see what she picks.

5. Sofia Vergara will be there...

which means she might bring JOE MANGANIELLO! The red carpet might burst into flames.

6. You might as well.

A Monday night in late August? There's nothing else on and it's too hot to be outside. It's a no brainer.
