Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan make up the duo Karmin, who you probably first learned about via their amazing song covers on Youtube. Now they're legit pop artists creating their own original music who just began their first US headlining tour and are about to release their first full-length album! And did we mention that they're also engaged—to each other? Here's what the adorable couple had to say about being on the road together, Amy's dream rap-off partner, whether or not they still talk to their former tourmates, the Jonas Brothers, and their plans for a wedding (and possibly a baby)...

OK!: Congrats on "Pulses!" Is this album similar to the last EP?

Amy Hiedemann: Yes and no. We developed quite a bit. We felt more like a duo on the album. There’s a lot more of Nick singing. There’s a little bit of a live feel.  So it feels maybe more energetic. The EP was a collection of poppy things, this is more of an overall experience. You get the ballads and the highs and the lows. That’s what Pulses is symbolizing, it’s the ups and downs of life.

OK!: Love it! But we'll still get your signature rapping, right?

AH: Oh you know. You know there will be rapping. There’s some surprises too. I think there’s some interesting stuff that I think people will be surprised.

OK!: You guys just started your first headlining tour in the US. What is the best and worst part of touring together?

Nick Noonan: Um, she’s right here! No, it’s real life, you can’t turn it off. If you spend enough time with anyone, that’s when you always bitch at each other, you can't escape. So we have moments of that.

AH: We argued like an hour ago actually.

NN: I don’t know if that was....

AH: (Laughs). It wasn’t a fight, it was escalated talking, let's put it that way.

NN: It was intense conversation.

OK!: Speaking of the tour, what will the set list be? Will it be a mix of your new songs and covers?

AH: We always end up throwing covers in (laughs).

NN: We have a lot of mixed songs, where we’ll throw in...

AH: A little bit of this song a little bit of that song. It's not like it used to be where it’s like a keyboard with an awkward living room with an awkward camera. But it's a lot of original music because it’s the new album. We want to get people familiar with the songs. But there are some covers. We shouldn’t tell which ones. You’ll have to come to the show. And I think some of the secrets are out on Youtube already.

MORE ON:
Karmin

OK!: Amy, could you see yourself doing a live rap-off with anyone?

AH: No, I don’t like competing (laughs).

NN: Eminem?

AH: Yeah, maybe Eminem because I know he has a sense of humor.  And he’s used to rap battles, right? He would kill me though. He’s so talented.

OK!: I know you guys were supposed to tour with the Jonas Brothers before they broke up. Does this mean you're boy band fans?

AH: I am into boy bands. Nick…

NN: I was never really a big boy band guy, but I understand its place and I’m not a hater, for sure, but it’s not necessarily my thing

AH: I’ll tell you what, I love the Jonas Brothers and I love The Wanted and they both broke up so I’m screwed.

OK!: Do you still talk to the Jonases?

AH: We do. Kevin…they’re so…Danielle’s perfect too.

NN: Kevin’s a dad now!

AH: Nick keeps in touch with Joe, they like really hit it off. I keep in touch with Nick for the most part, he’s the super creative one. And I just hope that they all continue to make music.

OK!: Do you think you two will give Kevin's daughter, Alena, a little playmate anytime soon?

AH: (Laughs). The worst question ever! No I’m just kidding. We can’t even take care of ourselves. But we’ll let you know when we can have a pet and it doesn’t die. Then we’ll be ready.

OK!: And what about the wedding? Has this tour come before planning?

AH: Yeah, unfortunately. The wedding has been pushed many times to many different back burners.

NN: We're pretty much at the point now where we’re just going to elope at some point. We’ll come back from some long day off and say, "Oh by the way we’re married."

AH: Our parents would kill us, but…
