Rejoice, Star Wars fans! No matter how you may have felt about the announcement that the Star Wars franchise would be revamped yet again, director JJ Abrams has done some awesome things at the helm of the project so far. He’s just announced that he will let a fan be in the movie!
Last week, Abrams posted an Instagram photo from set on the very first day of filming, and now he, along with Disney and Lucasfilms, have declared an awesome new initiative. “Star Wars: Force for Change” is an organization trying to find creative solutions for the world’s toughest problems. The campaign is raising money for UNICEF’s Innovation Labs, which benefit the poorest children in the world.
Fans can go to omaze.com/starwars to donate money to the cause. For every $10 donated there, the participant will be entered for a chance to win a role in Star Wars VII. Oh, and you’ll also get to hang out with JJ Abrams, tour the set, meet the cast—no big deal!
