Big day for the Cambridges! Kate Middleton‘s hacked voicemails were revealed, and seemingly to distract from that awkwardness, the royals announced that her son Prince George is making his first trip off the British Isles.
The now defunct tabloid News of the World has been accused of illegally intercepting voicemails, including those of the royal family. In court, Prince William‘s voicemails for his then-girlfriend were made public, resulting in some blush-worthy moments for the Cambridges. The world now knows, for example, that the future king of England calls Kate “baby” frequently, and even “babykins.” In one call, he also promised to send her a “cheeky text message” later that night. Prince William, a sexter?!
Meanwhile, baby Prince George is leaving town. He will accompany his parents on an official visit to New Zealand and Australia this spring, which will mark Kate’s first time to the countries, as well. The couple’s office released a statement confirming the news: “Their Royal Highnesses have been invited to visit by the New Zealand and Australian governments. Further details on the exact dates and itinerary will be issued in due course.” He may be a little young for jetsetting, but it turns out Georgie is mirroring his dad’s early life. Prince William also traveled to New Zealand and Australia in the spring after he was born. Cute!
