Well, folks, whether you like it or not, Ben Affleck has been cast as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel, which comes out in 2015. This means Christian Bale is dunzo. So how do we feel about this major news that broke late last night? We have mixed feelings, to say the least. Here's our list of pros and cons...

OK! News: Ben Affleck Cast in Gone Girl

Pro: He's an established actor. Unlike some other huge movie franchises that cast no-names as the main dudes, Ben Affleck has a solid acting career and even a few Oscars. Clearly he's a household name, which drives ticket sales.

Con:  He doesn't have the best movie history. Sure, he has Argo and Good Will Hunting to his name but also...Gigli and Daredevil. Never forget.

Pro: He has kids. This is actually a pro and a con—a con because some people might care more about Ben's personal life as a dad and husband to Jennifer Garner than they do his professional life, but a pro is that his real life dad skills could come in handy when he plays a superhero. Kids LOVE superheroes.

Con: He's sort of old. Other superheroes recently cast include Henry Cavill as Superman, Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, and even Ryan Reynolds as The Green Lantern if you want to include that film in the same category. These guys are youngin's! But Ben? He just turned 41. FORTY ONE.

Pro: He's Hot. Um, actually, we take back everything we just said. He's perfect.
