The trailer is now out for Angelina Jolie‘s new film Unbroken, based on the hugely successful book. It is the true story of an Olympian runner who survived a plane crash in World War II and being lost at sea, only to be captured by the Japanese. It’s an incredible story, so the movie promises to be just as compelling.
Sadly, this trailer premieres mere days after the man himself, Louis Zamperini, on whom the story is based, passed away. In a statement, director Angelina Jolie said, “It is a loss impossible to describe. We are all so grateful for how enriched our lives are for having known him. We will miss him terribly.”
The movie comes out on Christmas Day, which makes it a prime awards-show contender. Could Angelina Jolie actually be nominated for Best Director? Here’s hoping!
