Bristol Palin just can't stop dancing. Or being on television, apparently. The controversial daughter of one-time vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says her participation in Dancing With the Stars' all-star season is not based on a need for attention from the press.

"God provides opportunities for me," Bristol said at a DWTS press conference for the Summer 2012 TCA Tour yesterday. "The press is going to be talking about me no matter what, so I may as well be having fun."

And what's more fun than dancing around in glittery outfits? Seriously. Nothing. Bristol's Lifetime reality show, Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp, might have flopped, but she's still one of the most talked-about DWTS contestants of all time, so it's no surprise she was invited back for the all-star season. Bristol also cited providing for son Tripp as one of the primary reasons she participates in reality shows.

Tom Bergeron, host of DWTS and all-around nice guy, tried to joke with Bristol about her family's recent penchant for reality television. "You haven't gone full Kardashian," he said to Bristol, who replied seriously, "No — not at all."

Despite Bristol's opinions, you can put these facts on the books: the Palins have five reality shows to the Kardashians' six, including both families' DWTS participation.

Side note: Meghan McCain was a guest on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens: Live last Sunday, and he asked her if, in hindsight, she thought Sarah was a better running-mate for her father, John McCain, than Mitt Romney would have been. Meghan's answer? "I do think she was a better candidate at the time. People forget that she had a lot of momentum at the time, and it was sort of after the election that things went in the course that they have. I'm trying to say that PC."

Dance partners (Bristol was paired with Mark Ballas, pictured here, during her season) will be announced August 13, and the show premieres September 24 on ABC.

Are you glad Bristol will be on the all-stars season? What do you think of her participation in reality TV?
