Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams to Replace Ashlee in 'Chicago'

As Ashlee Simpson's run as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago, her successor has just been named — Michelle Williams. No, not Heath Ledger's baby mama; the Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child.

Michelle will take over the role of Roxie in the hit musical on Feb. 8 and is slated to perform through March 28.

Like Ashlee, this the Grammy-winner first tried her hand at Roxie overseas in London's West End. But unlike Ashlee, this isn't Michelle's first time on Broadway. She has previous experience in the starring role of Aida, where she took over for Toni Braxton. And she recently toured in The Color Purple.
