George Clooney Set To Testify in Fraud Case

Actor George Clooney is set to appear in a Milan courtroom on July 16 to testify against three people accused of using his name for a fashion label.

According to AFP, George will act as a civil plaintiff on the stand, where extra security has been ordered to protect the Ocean’s Eleven star.

"There will be a lot of people, I imagine,” Judge Pietro Caccialanza said of the upcoming court date.

With added security, the judge did say that fans would still be able "to come close to their hero.”

The fraud case originally began in April of 2008, when three still unnamed people were accused of fraud and forgery while preparing for a fashion show.

The 49-year-old’s lawyer, Grazia Maria Mantelli, also confirmed the actor’s impending appearance at trial.
