NEWSKendra Wilkinson's 'DWTS' Blog: The First Night Jitters!

Every week, reality star, sports lover, mom and former Playboy bunny Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett will check in with OK! as she learns how to shake it on the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars! Aided by her pro partner Louie Van Amstel, Kendra has been ready to rumba in no time!
On Monday night I was beyond nervous. I went home and went right to bed after the show but I almost felt hung over on Tuesday from all of my nerves the night before! I think I did the best I could have done on the first dance under that pressure! I think I did the best I could do, and I’m happy with it and how our dance turned out. The one thing Louie told me was to just have fun with it, and to just do the best I could do.
Despite doing our best, I thought the difficulty of my dance would have bumped up my scores a little higher, but that just means I have to work harder for next week. I’m all about improving and really taking myself to the next level so at the end of the day I’m happy with how everything turned out.

The support has been great! Hank is so proud of me, he couldn’t stop staring at me and smiling. He kept turning around to look at me when I was in the box up there and it was awesome. He was so happy and proud of me. I was so happy to see him and our family (his parents and her mom, brother and grandmother) in the audience supporting me.
Hef was also there — he's one of my best friends so it made me feel so good that he was there to support me and cheer for me. After the show he said he was proud of me and that he loved the dance and if he was a judge he would have given me a higher score! Haha!

The costumes are so much fun. I’m excited to see what’s coming up and what I’ll wear next week. I definitely want to wear a variety of styles and colors. But the only way my costume came off was by taking off choker at the top that held up my entire costume. So that means, every time I had to use the bathroom I had to literally take off the entire costume and put it back on!

My biggest fear so far, has been... the audience! As for the judges, I like how constructive they are with the feedback. At the end of the day they are there to help us improve so I really listened to what they said. At first I really wanted higher scores after they were given but afterward I was happy with what they gave me because they want me to improve, and it's going to push me to do better and hopefully score higher next week.

It's so much fun backstage with the other dancers! I love Chelsea Kane! She’s awesome, we hang out all the time, she’s so fun and sweet and so easy to be around. Lacey Schwimmer is awesome too, she always knows what to say to make me laugh.
