Nick Cannon hasn't had the best start to 2012, being diagnosed with kidney failure and deciding to cut down his workload so he can focus on getting better. And his supportive wife, Mariah Carey, reveals that although they're both nervous about his health condition, the new parents are going to push through and figure out a way to keep going.

"Nick is doing well," Mariah told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America this morning. "It’s a very complicated thing, and he spoke on it himself. But, the best thing, I think, was the choice he made to leave the radio show and focus on AGT America's Got Talent and Up All Night, which he just won an NAACP Award for, so that was great!"

Mariah adds that raising their twin babies, Monroe and Moroccan, and dealing with all the hospital visits and health issues has been tough, but she and Nick are fighting through "the obstacles."

"Nick's illness was just something that hit us really hard at the top of the year," Mariah explained. "It was a gradual thing. We've ended up in a couple of hospitals this year already, but now he is doing better. He is a young healthy person, and it's just a lifestyle choice and an awareness of just what can happen to you when you are young and in great shape and vibrant."

Mariah adds that her husband is going to "turn something that happened into a positive thing, as always" and will keep going, despite the hurdle in his way. And she promises she will do everything to be the best wife and caretaker.

We hope Nick gets well soon!
