Savannah Guthrie Takes Ann Curry's Hosting Seat On 'Today', But Is It Permanent?

Just one day after Ann Curry tearfully announced that she would be leaving The Today Show to take on "a fancy new titile" at NBC news, her co-host and friend Savannah Guthrie filled in her hosting seat next to Matt Lauer.

But although Savannah is a familar face for Today viewers, it didn't appear that NBC was ready to make her Ann's permanent replacement. In fact, producers decided not to announce the hosts names at the top of the show — as per usual — and simply led in to Matt and Savannah saying good morning and discussing Friday's top news stories.
Everything ran smoothly — business as usual, with Savannah, who is usual a legal analyst and Today's 9 a.m. host, even taking on Ann's concert series duty and announcing today's musical guest, Maroon 5.

E! News has confirmed that Savannah will be replacing Ann as the permanent new co-host of Today.
