Glee star Darren Criss made his long-awaited debut on Broadway last night to a sold-out crowd in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The actor who was disovered from his famous YouTube videos including a musical he wrote, "A Very Potter Musical," ironically took over on Broadway from Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.
Debuting on the big stage in the musical on the same night as co-star Beau Bridges, Darren was spotted becoming teary-eyed as he took his first curtain call.
When he came outside to greet fans, producers of the show were overwhelmed by how big the crowd was. As he entered the mob scene, he quickly shushed the crowd to say: "Anybody that can hear the sound of my voice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is a very special night for me, so thank you."
Darren is already receiving rave reviews for his performance with The New York Daily News saying, "Darren — unlike the guy he plays — doesn’t need to consult a book for pointers on how to succeed. He could write it."
The actor will be playing the role until Jan. 22 when Nick Jonas will take over.
