The picture-perfect couple was all smiles as they arrived for the premiere of George’s new film Suburbicon, at the Venice Film Festival, on Saturday Sep. 2, in Venice, Italy.

The film, which stars George’s longtime pal Matt Damon, was directed, co-produced and co-wrote, by George alongside the Coen brothers.

George and Amal’s return to the red carpet marks the first time the couple has made a public event appearance since the birth of their three-month-old twins Alexander and Ella.

The human rights attorney went for an Old Hollywood glam look as she wore a chiffon, lilac Versace gown. George also kept things classic as he donned a dapper Armani tux.

While the red carpet was the Clooney’s first public event since welcoming their twins it’s not their first public appearance as the two have been spotted all over Venice. Most recently, the couple was spotted enjoying a romantic date night before being whisked away by a water taxi.
