Battle of the bestie and the ex! The Oscars got a bit awkward for Matt Damon when his bestie Ben Affleck’s ex Jennifer Garner showed up after bashing him!

Damon arrived with his wife, Luciana, while Garner arrived alone days after her Vanity Fair cover story bashing Affleck went to newsstands.

“It’s not Ben’s job to make me happy,” she said. “The main thing is these kids — and we’re completely in line with what we hope for them. Sure, I lost the dream of dancing with my husband at my daughter’s wedding. But you should see their faces when he walks through the door. And if you see your kids love someone so purely and wholly, then you’re going to be friends with that person."

“Matt believes Ben’s marriage was in shambles way before the nanny,” the insider said. “There was too much anger there.”
Sources told OK! Magazine that Damon had never liked Garner while Affleck was married to her and didn’t want him to get back with her after the nanny scandal.
