Kanye West put on quite the show on Sunday night while accepting his MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards 2015.
West chose not to perform ahead of receiving the award from Taylor Swift at the show. But his dramatic acceptance speech made up for his decision not to hit the stage!
After reminiscing about his controversial run-in with Swift years ago at the VMAs, the rapper and designer's speech took a more emotional turn.
During his heartfelt chat with viewers, West dissed MTV's VMAs and other awards shows for pitting artists against each other at the annual events. He also called out MTV specifically for using the clip of him crashing the stage during Swift's Best Female Video Award acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs and announcing that she'd be presenting his Vanguard Award to him in an attempt to increase their ratings.
He also went on to admit that his dramatic speech was the product of more than him wanting to inspire "the kids" -- the title he lovingly gave to the fans chanting his name and watching him during his acceptance speech. "I rolled up a little something. I knocked the edge off," West said about his pre-speech ritual for the night.
But one of the biggest surprises came when West revealed some major plans he has in the works for the future! As he wrapped his speech, Mr. West let it be known that he just may have his sights set on the White House.
