Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s final performance with Meryl Davis on season 18 of Dancing With the Stars really was his last dance. The pro dancer revealed that he is not planning to return to the competition show.
“Definitely not,” Maksim said when asked by Glamour if fans could expect to see him next season. “You have to walk away when the time is right, and the time was right.”
The dancing pro competed on the show for 14 seasons before finally winning the Mirrorball trophy with the Olympic ice skater.
Although Maksim didn’t hint at a feud with the judges, he has been known to clash with them in the past. On season 13, he got into an argument with the panel over a score. He later told former co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet, “This is my show. I helped make it what it is.”

Fans may not see him on the dance floor, but they could check him out on the big screen! “Acting gives me a completely different dimension. I respect it,” he said of wanting to get into acting. “I’m fascinated by the tools that acting gives you. I feel like it makes sense to do something creative.”
