Tis the summer of sequels. More movies are coming out this season with the numbers "2" or "3" at the end of it than not, and we're ok with that. But since every avid movie-goer knows that most sequels are not always as amazing as the originals, we did the dirty work for you and are telling you whether or not that's true for this summer's sequel flicks.

Keep clicking to see what we thought of The Hangover 3 and Despicable Me 2, and if you should get excited or not for upcoming part twos like Kick-Ass 2, Grown-Ups 2 and more...

Despicable Me 2

Despicable me 2

Despicable Me 2 is one of those movies where the original is better than the sequel, but come on. It's hard to top Despicable Me. This one's funny and clever and has Kristen Wiig playing Gru's love interest and it's definitely a good time. And bonus? It just came out next week so now's your chance!

Fast and Furious 6

Not many movies make it to the sixth one, but Fast & Furious did and number 6 killed it at the box office, just as the 5 before it did. Probably because of Paul Walker. He only helps matters.

This weekend the second Grown-Ups hits theaters where Adam Sandler's character and his wife, played by Salma Hayek, move full-time to the cabin to raise their kids. We say it's worth seeing because this time around, Taylor Lautner and Alexander Ludwig are in it. Mmmmhm.

The Hangover Part III

We wish Warner Brothers skipped over part 2 and started with part 3, because this film was lightyears better than the second one. Not as good as the first, but better than the second. Part III saw the guys return to Vegas and finally wrapped up all the crazy storylines (and even gave Alan a love interest!), so it was a goodie. It's not playing in theaters anymore, but you bet it's worth a watch on Netflix when it comes to DVD this fall!

Monsters University

If you read our review of the film, you know that we think Monsters University is amazing in every way possible. Seeing Sully and Mike in college was beyond entertaining, and yes, this sequel might've even topped the original. It's still playing in theaters, too, so go check it out! Swear it's not just for the kiddies!

Iron Man 3

Even if you hadn't seen parts 1 and 2, Iron Man 3 is still worth checking out. Robert Downey Jr.'s humor carries the whole thing, and the plot was actually not as crazy gory and superhero like as anticipated. Which is a good thing. You'll have to wait till it comes out on DVD to see it if you haven't already, though.

Kick-Ass 2

Nothing is more fun than seeing a teenage girl kick butt in a movie, hence our excitement for Kick-Ass 2. But also, we hear this film is even funnier than the first one and the costumes are even more amazing. Anyone else super excited for August 16?
