Rihanna Defends Reconciliation With Chris Brown… And Other Celeb Romances That Have Been On-Again, Off-Again

Rihanna says it was "more important for me to be happy" than to listen to what everyone else had to say when she decided to officially get back together with Chris Brown.

"I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of my happiness," Rihanna told the latest issue of Rolling Stone.

"Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."

Her speaking out comes just days before the four-year anniversary of Chris brutally attacking her after they left a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles.

"When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know," Rihanna added.

"It's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about s**t. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that.

"He doesn't have the luxury of f**king up again. That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in the knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility."

Sean Penn and Robin Wright split more times than we can remember during their 20 year relationship. They tied the knot in 1996 after seven years together. They started divorce proceedings in 2007 and then called it off four months later. Then in 2009 Sean filed for legal separation, just two months after Robin tearfully watched him win the Oscar for Milk. He took the petition back just weeks later. Robin finally filed to divorce Sean again in 2009 and it was finalized in July 2010.
