They’re on the fast track to love! Selena Gomez and The Weeknd’s (a.k.a Abel Tesfaye) relationship is moving full speed ahead and they don’t seem to have any plans on slowing it down. At this rate, they could be engaged next week! After multiple trips across the globe in just the first few months of their relationship, the couple decided to make a detour from the international world tour and take a trip to Abel’s hometown of Toronto!
However, the weekend trip was more than just a quick getaway. As Heat magazine reports, Abel introduced the two other women closest to his heart, his mom and grandma, to his new lady, Selena.
“He was thrilled for Selena to meet his family,” an insider told the mag.
“They instantly took to Selena and they like her very much,” the source revealed. “They thought she was surprisingly down-to-earth and very friendly.”
“Abel also wanted to make sure Selena was able to relax in Toronto, as he always wants to have a home there,” the insider said. “She proved to him that she can hang, deal with the cold weather, relax, the whole thing. He loves her glamorous side, but this Selena is the one who sealed the deal.”
