Bono Doesn't "Disagree" With Spider-Man Musical's Bad Reviews

U2's Bono and The Edge don't disagree with the bad reviews that the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has received. However, they do think the revamped show is much better.

Bono and The Edge wrote the music for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, so the bad reviews had to have hurt a little bit. But actually, they agree it was bad!

"This is the sort of stuff we were saying backstage. I mean, seriously," Bono explained to Good Morning America today. "It might have been a little hard for some other people around here to take that. But we don't disagree with The New York Times."

Julie Taymor wrote and directed the original version of the show, but has since left the project.

"Julie would not accept this, but she got very close to it," Bono said. "So close, perhaps, that she couldn't see it. And we were going at it and coming back, and we could see very clearly what we thought were the problems."

Now the show has a new song and the love story has been developed. According to Bono, they've fixed a lot of "obvious stuff."
