Merely one day after he performed in Toronto, the verdict's still out as to whether or not fans liked Charlie Sheen's "My Violent Torpedo of Truth" show. One thing's for certain: He received a pretty stern warning ahead of time from Canadian officials to not smoke on stage. The penalty would have been a $100,000 fine!

Although TMZ wrote in the midst of his performance, "The crowd inside is loving Sheen's act," it sounds like Globe and Mail (via Hollywood Reporter) had a different take. Columnist Lynn Crosbie Tweeted, "Crowd so fugue state they are booing silent pauses." At one point when Charlie started to answer audience questions, he made the "people upstairs insane with rage" that he was remaining on the main floor in the theater!

"This is getting so ugly! Crowd so drunk so brain damaged cannot hear timid in comparison Sheen," she Tweeted. "Sheen is Mr Rogers compared to crowd. What happened to polite Canada?"

Sounds like the unruly crowd got more tame when Charlie started talking about Two and a Half Men and being fired from the show. Apparently, Charlie confessed his former bosses "knew" he was "high for eight years."

Although he admitted to being high during that time, there's one thing he knew he couldn't get high on during the show, and that's nicotine. Previously smoking on other tour stops, whether it was Cleveland, Chicago or NYC for example, he was forbidden from smoking during his performance as per Toronto's anti-smoking law.

If he lit up on stage, he could have been fined up to $100,000 by the city, according to TMZ. As for his work around? He lit up an electronic cigarette. He has one more show at Massey Hall tonight so perhaps he'll light up an electronic cigarette yet again?
