After 717 shows before sold-out crowds at the legendary Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Celine Dion sang her final encore for her show, "A New Day...," on Saturday night in the theater that was built for her.
However, the platinum-selling singer told the audience, the show, which quickly became one of Vegas' hottest tickets, almost never got off the ground. "At one point, it was like the Titanic was about to sink again," Celine reflected, saying that she became pregnant with her son Rene-Charles and was doubtful about wanting to continue. "But we believed and went on with it."

For the show's finale, 7-year-old Rene-Charles and his father, Celine's husband and manager Rene Angelil, joined her on-stage while rose petals showered down from the rafters.
Fans of the "My Heart Will Go On" songstress need not fret about her retiring any time soon. The 39-year-old will begin a concert tour to promote her latest album, Taking Chances, in February.
As for Celine's slot at Caesar's, it will soon be filled by another big-voiced diva, Bette Midler, whose "The Showgirl Must Go On" opens Feb. 20.
